Jay Chou's "The Rooftop" praised as a 'smart' movie

Jay Chou's new movie, "The Rooftop" was highly praised when it had its premiere in Taiwan last week.

As reported on TW website, the Chief of Taiwan's Cultural Department commends the movie for its intellectual elements, saying, "This is a very smart film. How can someone know very well about arts, emotions and commercial, and successfully blend them all together perfectly?"

He also added that "The Rooftop" has the ability to be adapted into a stage play.

Meanwhile, at the press conference of the movie, Jay admitted that his fear of heights nearly ruined the romantic scene with new actress, Li Xin Ai.

Jay stated, "In the film, we had to sit dangerously and have a talk on a three-story speaker, with our legs dangling. Li Xin Ai even teased me by kicking the bottom of my feet, and it really scared me."

"I wasn't pleased with my own performance so I had it re-shot a few times. It was too high. The film would be a little affected," he said.
