The former alleged lovebirds, Jay Chou and Jolin Tsai, also known as Double J, appeared to be quite ill-at-ease on stage together to present an award at the 24th Golden Melody Awards held at Taipei Arena.

Sina reported that although the two Taiwanese stars were the most anticipated award presenters of the night, their awkwardness with each other caused audiences and viewers at home much amusement.

Jolin and Jay, who both lost the Best Male and Female Singer Awards that night to Jam Hsiao and Sandy Lam respectively, made the fact humorous on stage when the "Rooftop" actor asked Jolin, "Does that not sadden you?" to which Jolin answered, "A bit."

The 34-year-old singer also tried to make a joke, saying, "If your friend (referring to Jolin's boyfriend Vivian Dawson) has no time to take you to the gym, you can join mine."

However, the two looked slightly discomfited when the main host, Matilda Tao, urged them to hug each other. This suggestion was cheered on by the audiences, so they tried, with awkward results.

Meanwhile, Jolin, who won Best Song of the Year with her ballad, "The Artist", revealed later that she does not regret losing the Best Female Singer award to Sandy Lam, saying that winning awards is like playing the lottery.
