Selina's father and good friend Mickey Huang spoke up for the singer after the video was exposed at a press conference
Much to the chagrin of Selina Jen's fans, a video clip, which revealed the details of the accident that took place during the filming of I Have a Date with Spring (now retitled Love in Spring) in 2010, was recently released at the press conference of the drama. The singer's terrified screams could be clearly heard from the video which was seemingly used as a promotional tactic, causing Hunan TV to be blasted for 'adding insult to injury'.
Although Selina's life has gradually returned to normal with the starlet resuming work three years after the accident, her father spoke in defense of the singer on a TV program yesterday. He said, 'Her injuries are more serious than most people think.'
'When we are faced with the unchangeable reality, we can only accept it with optimism. She is feeling much better now.'
Instead of lashing out at the drama's promotional team, Selina's dad only wished to provide his daughter with the encouragement to carry on in life. 'Happiness is the best cure. She knows that and I believe she will move on with strength,' he added.
On the other hand, Selina's good friend Mickey Huang was infuriated and reprimanded the team, saying that they 'deserved to be cursed for their lack of empathy'. The veteran host reportedly sent a text message to the S.H.E member immediately after he learned of the news.
In response to his text, Selina wrote: 'I've survived all the trials and tribulations in my life. This too shall pass. I'm thankful for all the warmth I've received.'
While the singer has maintained a calm reaction to the news so far, Mickey felt 'even more sorry' for her as a result. He said, 'She has not complained about it which shows her good manners and attitude. Even when she's upset, she faces her problems with a smile.'
