The "Double J" romance has always been an open secret in the industry, but it was just recently that the Taiwanese pop diva finally opened up about her breakup with the famous singer-songwriter.

Now News reported that the 32 year-old singer, who was recently on Matilda Tao's radio show, admitted that she and Jay Chou were indeed in a relationship in the early 2000s and that "The Rooftop" actor was the one who called it quits.

Jolin revealed that their relationship was on the rocks in 2005, when an intimate photo of TV personality, Patty Hou and Jay on a vacation in Japan was published in the media, exposing the blossoming romance between the two.

She stated, "When I asked him about the photo, he denied his relationship with Patty and said that the photo was taken upon everyone's request. But I believe what I saw and told him that I was still thinking about saving the relationship, as I can't bear to let it all go."

The singer revealed that they finally parted ways after Jay initiated the breakup.

Admitting that she resented Patty and Jay at first, Jolin expressed that she took a year to overcome her sadness and even avoided meeting Jay Chou during work. When asked if she is okay now, Jolin enthused, "The resentment period is over."

The two are now friends again, although Jolin disclosed that Jay had never apologised for his two-timing behaviour.
