Fans were shocked to find that Taiwanese Prince of Ballads, Sam Lee, may have been involved in an affair with a woman that resulted in a love child.

As reported on Netease, the revelation came about when a woman, known only as Ms. Cai, confronted Sam on the street on 24 July, shouting loudly that they have an illegitimate child.

The woman, who was accompanied by two elderly companions, was heard reprimanding Sam, asking, "Why were you playing tennis with that stocking girl when your child was very sick? Don't you know that he is your child?" to which he answered, "Of course I know! But we are not officially married, and we should not interfere in each other's lives."

The two of them were then seen entering a car and was going back and forth on the subject – with Ms. Cai urging for them to get married while Sam refuses. She then fell to the ground sobbing, and was only comforted by Sam when an elderly man asked him to do so.

Sources claimed that Sam has been seeing Ms. Cai, who worked in his recording company, two years ago. However, when the woman became pregnant with his child, the singer stressed that he has no intentions of marrying her and gave her NTD 1 million for pre-natal care.

An insider stated, "When she got pregnant, she refused to say who the father was but hinted that he was an artiste in the company who is also a protégé of Sam's. She later told friends that she had broken up with the boyfriend and would be raising the child alone. But then she changed her statement and said that they are engaged to be married."

However, it was alleged that Ms. Cai finally decided to reveal the identity of her child's father when Sam failed to make frequent visits to his three-month-old child, and did not keep his promise to provide them with NTD 50,000 for monthly expenses.

Sam Lee's manager, Sandy, initially denied the truth of the reports but changed her statement when she heard that Sam was at the scene when it happened.

"I was not able to contact him and we can't give any comments at the moment," said Sandy.
